Hello! Yet another Release Candidate. Things are moving along quite nicely!

v1.0.2:
* Fix some rare cases where Dropbox wouldn't start up
* Fix bug on Windows that would cause files in your Dropbox folder to lose badges on unlink
* Fixed OSX console warnings about NSUndoManager
* Revert to old "Open My Dropbox" behavior on Windows (don't show the strange folder tree)
* Lots of small fixes!

Note:
If you want to try the new tour, just go to the preferences and unlink your Dropbox. Warning: the unlinking and re-linking process may take a while if you have a large Dropbox.

Just upgraded from 0.8.114, and I see that it forces it's icon to the forefront of the notification area in Windows 7 even when it's been hidden before. I think this bug has been reported in some previous builds, but I kept it on the forefront in my previous computer so I didn't experience it before.

Didn't notice that either because I keep it in the front of the sys tray all the time (for easy access).

Does it automatically change the settings in the System Tray customization? I forget if i manually set it or not.

It sets Dropbox to show the icon and notifications on the systray on the first install instead of letting it go with the system default like most apps (which I am fine with), and it forces the setting back if you're upgrading (which is a bug).

This is a bit embarrassing, I think. Hit 1.0.0 and quickly release 2 more releases due to bugs.

Really good job, DropBox team!

I submitted a feature request - selective sync - just a day before and accidentally found this feature has been included in latest version.

I've struggled with insufficient harddrive space for a period of time and kept removed less-used files. Moreover, I was even forced to leave the sharing folders of my friends.

Right now, this make my life much easier. Thank you all for the effort. Really nice and great job!

After upgrading from RC1.0.1 the unlink failed "You tried to unlink Dropbox but something went wrong. This is probably because Dropbox doesn't have permissions to delete certain files from your computer."

...after being told at the beginning of the unlink that it wouldn't delete any files?

Then it quits silently. and appears to otherwise work fine when restarted.

Hey, dous anyone have a quick answer to this: I have a dropbox account that i share with another user for specific reasons. Now I want to get access to another persons dropbox, can I have two dropbox accounts open at once on my computer or do I have to switch between two accounts, in that case how is that done?

that question is off topic, there is several post in the forum discussing this question.

Short answer, it is not possible to have more than one DB instance running, also it is not possible to switch between two accounts fast.

Did you look into sharing folders instead of sharing the whole account?

Can you make an option in the preferences menu to open up the dropbox folder with or without the folder tree on windows? I was kinda getting used to see the tree.

Hey Ted,

It's not embarrassing, it's just how they roll. Released stable versions are usually followed by a few days of minor bug-swatting. I think 0.7 went stable at build 107, and ended up being 0.7.110, for example. I think this is just normal operating procedure for them.

When is there going to be a stable release? 0.8 hasn't had a single stable release, yet you're already moving on to 1.0??

Last stable release was 0.7.110, which came out in February!

The 1.0.x RC version *is* the stable candidate of the 0.8 series. (Not that 0.8 hasn't been technically stable for a long time) The jump to 1.0+ just represents their officially leaving "beta" or "prerelease". It is an indication of state, nothing else.

Lol, do you think they're going to add something as complicated as that in a 0.0.x release? They need to get all the final bugs worked out for this release. They won't be adding feature enhancements anytime soon.

On my virtual machine with DropBox Folder being the Root of a truecrypt mounted volume Dropbox always rebuilds its index. Afterwards its seems to work fine but after a restard Dropbox reindexes all files. Ill tried to delete filecache-file and the sigstore-file but this lead to another long indexing-run with these file having the same filesize afterwards (100 and 50 Megabytes)

Ted: That's the point of a Release Candidate--to find these problems now, rather than in the final release. It's a candidate for the 1.x series, not a stable release.
