Welcome one and all to WP HQ's inaugural newsletter, hand-typed with care in the heart of Vienna's 6th District and sent to you around the world who've either typed-in or scribbled down their e-mail address over the past years at our websites or at live shows. Thanks for keeping your ears open, and all the best to you and yours in what I hope is a busy and productive 2013 for all of us.

NEW ALBUM: THUMBTACKS + GLUE
We're excited to announce the release of Thumbtacks + Glue in early 2013! Recorded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with BFF Arran Fisher at his Acoustikitty Studios (plus sessions at my dear old house Studio 827), Thumbtacks + Glue includes 10 new songs we worked away on between 2009 and 2012 and presents an altogether new side of the 'Pigeon, and also marks our debut release on the UK's legendary Fierce Panda Records.

The album artwork features drawings by Calgary's amazing Ben Chyzyk, projected, manipulated, and photographed by our old friends at Elyron in Torino, Italy. The CD edition features a 16 page book with photographs and lyrics, while the vinyl (with alternate artwork) and digital editions feature 2 bonus tracks: 'Emotorik' and 'Yakub'. (Furthermore, the Japanese Edition will include additional bonus tracks we're presently sorting out).
Thumbtacks + Glue will be released by Fierce Panda Records in the UK / EU on 25 February 2013, by Boompa Records in N. America on 26 February 2013, and via Lirico Records in Asia on 3 March 2013.
NEW LIVE DATES
While full touring scheduling will be announced shortly, at the moment there's a few interesting shows to announce, including a Reykjavik / Calgary musician exchange program I've worked on making a reality the past couple of years. Benni Hemm Hemm and Prins Polo from Reykjavik will be collaborating on new material with myself, Laura Leif, Samantha Savage Smith, and Clinton St. John, presented in 5 special shows in our home cities of Reykjavik and Calgary in January / February 2013. These collaborative pieces will be recorded and make their way out in some shape or form later in 2013.
